C. C. Young, a premier, non-profit senior living community, is excited to announce a call for art and writing for the 2017 Spirit is Ageless Art and Writing Contest. Residents of C. C. Young and the general public, age 55 and better, are encouraged to enter. Entries will be accepted on March 22 and 23, 2017.
Started in 1999, The Spirit is Ageless Art & Writing Contest continues to be a very special event at C. C. Young. The contest, art gallery show and celebration of artists and writers is designed for the entire Dallas-Fort Worth community to enjoy. The annual show features entries from 16 categories in an effort to celebrate each person’s ageless creativity, ability to grow and eagerness to share his or her special talents, no matter a person’s limitations or status. All ability levels are welcome to participate in the contest.
The Spirit is Ageless Awards & Celebration Event will be held at The Point & Pavilion at C. C. Young on Saturday, May 6, 2017, and is open to all participants and the general public. The featured speaker will be Lily Cabatu Weiss, Executive Director of the Dallas Arts District. Please RSVP today to rsvp@ccyoung.org or 214-841-2831.

How to Enter
The contest is open to members of the general public, age 55 or better, and is open to residents of C. C. Young. The art is to have been completed at age 55 or better and created by the person entering the piece. C. C. Young Residents are limited to entering two (2) pieces and there is NO cost. All others are limited to entering one (1) complimentary piece and may enter one (1) additional piece of art for a $10.00 entrance fee, which must be paid at the time of art delivery/drop off. Winners will be honored at The Spirit is Ageless Awards & Celebration Event on Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the following categories:
Drawing · Fiber Arts · Group Project · Hard Crafts · Metal · Miscellaneous · Mixed Media
Painting · Photography · Poetry · Prose · Upcycle/Recycle (NEW for 2017!)

Completed entries will be accepted March 22-23, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and must be delivered in person to the lobby of The Point & Pavilion at C. C.
