There are only a few days remaining before the second annual J.L. Long Sports Hold'em Poker Tournament on Saturday, January 28 so if you haven't signed up yet, hurry up and do so. Not only are there some great prizes available for the winners, it's a great social event with lots of food and drink that benefits J.L. Long athletics.

The tournament is being held at Backyard Beach Bar and the doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for check-in, appetizers and cocktails. The tournament begins at 7:00 p.m. and the tables will be manned by professional dealers to ensure everything runs smoothly and properly. For those that don't quite remember all the rules to Texas Hold'em, there will be a refresher course at 6:30 p.m.

The main goal of everyone at the tournament is the final table. The booster club have some great prizes prepared for the winners, such as a 42" HDTV, a Kindle Fire, Dallas Stars hockey tickets, wine tasting for twenty people at Times Ten Cellars and much more.

Even people that don't like poker will have a good time at this event. There will be cheap food and drinks all night long and plenty of people from the neighborhood to socialize with. It may be too cold to go swimming but there are sand volleyball courts and plenty of big screen TVs for people to watch sports on.

To register for the event, go to the J.L. Long Sports Booster Club website. The early registration deadline has passed and the entry fee for the tournament is now $100 but remember, it's all going to a great cause.
