This year the Woodrow Wilson Homecoming Parade was on a glorious sunny day; and as usual, participants probably outnumbered those watching the parade--it is always a huge neighborhood event! The parade started with marching JROTC and Woodrow's Sweethearts, then Woodrow's dignitaries and the Homecoming Court. Most of our feeder elementary schools had at least one entry; Eduardo Mata Montessori, Lakewood Elementary, Stonewall Jackson, Lipscomb Elementary, and Lee Elementary were there with floats, scooters, & bicycles.  JL Long Middle School had many sports and cheer floats; and Woodrow had floats from Gay Pride to JROTC, Sweethearts, band, orchestra, all men and women sports, cheer, theater and more.  The pep rally was the largest ever (almost 700 Burger House hamburgers were consumed); Woodrow celebrated the 90th birthday of former principal, Wayne Pierce, "Mr. Wildcat", with a huge cake and cheer, and was a great tribute to the Woodrow Wildcat football team and to our school spirit.  Go Wildcats!
