Irish Step Dance was made famous by the Riverdance and the Lord of the Dance shows. The precision, coordination and power of the dancers has captivated audiences and inspired children around the world to learn the cultural dance of Ireland. Now, children in Lakewood have the opportunity to experience and learn Irish Step Dance themselves from the newly opened Crú Capaill Academy of Irish Dance.

Crú Capaill is led by Katie Crowley, who is one of only nine certified Irish dance teachers in all of Texas. Crowley has been Irish step dancing since she was four and has 22 years of dance experience under her belt. She has competed at the regional, national and world championship level and has performed at many big-time venues, including the White House lawn, halftime at a Chicago Bears game and Disney World.

As part of the studio opening promotions, Crú Capaill is offering a free lesson for beginners on Wednesday, January 25 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Children - boys and girls - above the age of four are welcome to come out and give Irish Step Dance a try. To learn more about Crú Capaill and to sign up for this free class, visit the Crú Capaill website.
