A nice home win was just what the Bishop Lynch Friars needed following a tough trip to Prestonwood the week before. They got just that, trouncing John Paul II for a 63-14 district win in front of a massive homecoming crowd at Roffino Stadium.

Jaire Moore scored on each of his three carries, Jermaine Mask carried eight times, scoring on three, and the Friars (4-3, 2-2) racked up more than 400 rushing yards while throwing the ball just once all night — a 50-yard touchdown.

Jarek Broussard scored touchdowns rushing and receiving and Ryan Corcoran added a TD run for his first score of the season.

The Friar defense came up big with two turnovers and eight sacks, led by 2.5 for Chris Sigsbee, two for Brodrick Watson, 1.5 for Warren Walls and one each for Michael Menditto and Landry Kershaw.

Jeremy Harris picked off a pass for his third interception of the season and Gabriel Murphy pounced on a JPII fumble.

The Friars hit the road for a pivotal district game Friday at Liberty Christian. BL is 0-6 all-time against the Warriors, including last season's 38-21 loss in Argyle.
