Good Local Markets 8th annual Fall Pie Contest will be held Saturday, November 12th 10:30am - 12:30pm at the Lakeside Baptist Church location (9150 Garland Road).  2016 introduces the Good Local Kids Pie Contest for bakers 12 and under in addition to the adult category.  Entry fee is $10 per pie.  

All pies are available for tasting by the public, who vote on winners in the categories of Fruit, Nut, Chocolate, Cream/Custard and Best Overall.  Tasting tickets will be available day of for $5.

Pie crusts and fillings must be homemade.  Winners in each category will receive an official Good Local Markets pie ribbon.  To register online, go to www.goodlocalmarkets.org or stop by the Good Local Markets information booth on market days. Live music from the Washburn Trio.

Good Local Markets is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization which supports local farmers, ranchers and artisans by providing a public space to sell fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, hand-crafted foods and other products while serving thousands of residents looking for healthy and locally sourced foods.    Additionally Good Local Markets offers the Lone Star food stamp program, Love Your Farmer volunteer days, educational programs and workshops.
