On October 27, 2016, C. C. Young, a premier, non-profit senior living community, held a groundbreaking ceremony for The Vista, a new 10-level, $84 million integrated transitional living center scheduled for completion by fall 2018.

Prior to the ceremony, residents, donors, staff and supporters of C. C. Young were shuttled across the 20-acre East Dallas campus to the site where they mixed and mingled amongst construction vehicles before taking a seat for the program. Promptly at 4:00 p.m., Board Chairman Richard Stanford welcomed dignitaries and guests before introducing Dr. Don R. Benton who led the invocation. The Honorable Mark Clayton, Dallas City Council Member for District 9, and The Honorable Kenneth Sheets, State Representative for District 107, were also in attendance and spoke on the importance of C. C. Young to the East Dallas community and beyond.

C. C. Young President and CEO Russell Crews then addressed the audience and explained the importance of The Vista to C. C. Young’s strategic plan, and how the flexible design concept will allow them to adapt the level of care to the changing market demands. The new 325,000-square-foot healthcare center, which will connect to the existing Blanton Assisted Living building, is a new, forward-thinking concept in the Senior Living, Senior Care industry and will establish C. C. Young as a market leader. Guests in attendance were then prompted to raise a glass to C. C. Young’s future prior to concluding the ceremony with groundbreaking photos.
