The co-ed JL Long 6th grade soccer team is off to a fantastic start for the season.  The YMCA had the Bucs scheduled for 2 games this Saturday...first one at 9:15 AM against the Pandas and second at 11:45 AM against Solar Prep boys team.  To be clear, although we are a co-ed team, we play in the 5-6th grade boys division for play.  The first score of the season was made by Stella Storey and both teams played well to end in a 1-1 tie.  Between games, the players rested, played on the playground and had some light brunch or lunch snacks.  During the second game, we had some players that had NEVER played soccer or certain positions before and were not very confident.  They were told repeatedly by coach and teammates to just believe in yourself.  Super proud of all players but, Camron Sanders showed his true colors by playing wonderfully at goalie and only allowing 1 score.  A kudos goes out to the rest of the team, both offense and defense as the Bucs solidly beat Solar Prep 3-1.  Our 30th season should prove to be a great one!
