The Swiss Avenue Historic District Home Tour has become a Mother’s Day tradition for generations. In addition to the free speakers series, this year's tour features eight historic homes, open on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 11, from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets to tour the homes are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  Children 12 and under are free. Advance tickets can be purchased on the Swiss Avenue Historic District website or at Whole Foods Markets (in central Dallas) and Talulah Belle in Lakewood.

The mission of the Swiss Avenue Historic District is to promote the benefits of historic preservation, to encourage citizen involvement, and to improve the quality of life within and around the community.  Historic East Dallas represents some of Dallas’ finest examples of preservation of early 20th century residential architecture.  The district boasts excellent examples of Prairie, Craftsman, Neoclassical, Italian Renaissance, Tudor, Jacobethan, Colonial, and Revival styles.
