Now in its sixth year, White Rock Local Market (WRLM) kicks-off the season Saturday, March 15 at Lakeside Baptist Church.  The popular farmer’s market operates on the first and third Saturdays of the month at Lakeside Baptist Church and at The Green Spot on North Buckner Boulevard on the second and fourth Saturdays.

The inaugural market welcomes back growers, ranchers and artisans for an “Everything Market” with live music by Dave Burris from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  On March 22, The Green Spot welcomes Holt and Stocklager to perform music of Simon and Garfunkel starting at 11am.

A vibrant celebration of community and neighborhood, WRLM strengthens the local food economy and creates awareness of the social, environmental, and health benefits of eating local foods.  Artisans, farmers and ranchers are located within 150 miles. WRLM incubates small businesses and provides crucial support to small farmers. WRLM hosts a community garden as well as workshops and field trips for kids and adults.

White Rock Local Market is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization sustained by sponsorships and memberships. Sponsorships for 2014 are available now at www.whiterocklocalmarket.org. Benefits vary.

Sponsors to date include Gecko Hardware, Chipotle, White Rock Real Estate, Chef DAT, and Adjust Chiropractic.

White Rock Local Market is open from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. from March 15 – December 13.  The first and third Saturdays of the month markets will be located at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road.
