"Winters Horizon," by Kay Dalton.

To celebrate the 50th Annual Lakewood Art Show, the Lakewood Library Friends is holding a free drawing: Our Patrons Are Golden.  Twelve winners will be drawn and each will be awarded one of the spots in a free, six lesson adult art class. The class includes all art supplies, and will be held in the auditorium of the Lakewood Branch Library, 6121 Worth Street, Dallas, 75214. The six weekly classes wiil be held on Fridays, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, beginning March 21, through Friday, May 2, 2014. No class will be held on Friday, April 11.

Any Dallas resident age 18 or older may enter this free drawing by submitting a completed entry form to the reference desk of the Lakewood Branch Library, where forms are available, no later than Saturday, March 1, 2014.  Only one entry per person is allowed. The winners will be chosen at random from all submitted entries, and will be notified by Wednesday, March 5.

Because this class is limited to 12 students, all entrants are asked to review their personal schedules and the class dates to make sure they can commit to all six lessons.

The six, two hour lessons in acrylic painting will emphasize color, shape, and expression, and will be taught by Dallas artist Kay Dalton. Dalton is both an experienced art teacher as well as an artist whose works are found in private and public galleries. She explained that this art class is for all artistic skill levels, with the emphasis on self-expression and fun.
