The Tigerlilies are Princeton University’s oldest all-female a cappella group, founded in 1971 with the first graduating class of women at the university. After gathering beneath Princeton’s 1879 Arch and breaking into a four-part rendition of Ella Fitzgerald’s jazz classic, “How High the Moon,” the original eight members of the Lils established the group. Since then, the group has grown in size but remains steadfast in its sisterhood and dedication to music. During the school year, the Lils perform frequent “arch sings” around campus, and twice a year, they tour across the United States and to various international destinations. In the past decade, the Lils have visited Australia, London, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Greece, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Bermuda. With an extensive repertoire consisting of everything from jazz standards and oldies to modern mainstream hits, the Lils provide a sophisticated, upbeat, and professional performance that all audiences will enjoy.
