Italian Cellist and SMU alumnus Francesco Mastromatteo and classical guitarist Noemi Passiatore will perform two Spring concerts on April 30 and May 1 at 6:00 p.m.
The April 30 concert "Six Strings Paintings" will be a solo guitar concert featuring Ms. Passiatore, an award winning musician who is Professor of Classical Guitar at the Liceo Musicale "F. De Sanctis" of Cervinara, Italy. Ms Passiatore's focus is on the Romantic Period and the early 20th century. Her performance will include works by Paganini and Julian Arcas.
The May 1 concert "Oriental Sound Poetry" will be a duo guitar and cello concert by Ms. Passiatore and Mr. Mastromatteo. It will include a world premiere of Lucera negli occchi di un bambino by Eltorre Figliola, and an American premiere of Nel Tuo Sorriso by Joseph Tusiani.
