This Mother’s Day weekend, step back into a bygone era -- during the 40th annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. It’s the grand dame of all home tours and one of the city’s most anticipated annual events.
Explore six unique homes, including the very first home built on Swiss, the area’s the first Craftsman bungalow, and for the first time, explore all three floors of 4949 Swiss, the former Caruth home, later owned by Mary Ellen Bendtsen.
Shuttle between homes on air-conditioned coaches and horse-drawn carriages. In Savage Park, enjoy live entertainment, an arts fair, food vendors, a childrens’ play area and a Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday catered by Penne Pomodoro with music by Matt Tolentino and The Singapore Slingers. Get tickets at area Whole Foods Markets or Talulah Belle in Lakewood and online at SAHD.org.
Hosted by the Swiss Avenue Historic District and presented by The Advocate Magazine, WRR Classical 101.1 and Richmond and Associates Landscaping.
