Lakewood Got a "Taste" of Greenville Avenue at Energy Squre

The best restaurants that line up and down Greenville Avenue were on display at the annual Taste of Greenville Avenue, which was hosted at Energy Square on Greenville. The event, which had around 30 booths set up all around the square, was held on Saturday, October 28 from 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m.

Each restaurant brought out samples of its best and most popular dishes for guests to sample at a reduced price. Practically every type of cuisine was available from Mexican and Italian to American and Asian. And although the sample sizes were small, the prices were decreased accordingly.

While the food took was the main attract of the event, there was also musical entertainment ongoing throughout the day. Southwest KIA, one of the main sponsors of Taste of Greenville Avenue, set up a stage and various bands, such as Cliff Blues Band, the Chameleon Chamber Group and The King Bucks, rocked the set. Several schools in Lakewood also got in the act: the Woodrow Wilson Marching Band and Stonewall Jackson Choir also made performances at the event.

A few retail stores and service facilities were also on hand. Shoppers and diners could get pampered at Massage Envy or get information about European Wax Center. And Vespa Dallas was offering a discounted price on several select scooters for the day.

Now, all those restaurants and shops are hoping that the guests who got a “taste” of Greenville Avenue will come be coming out to see what it’s really all about.
