Residents of Lakewood will be glad to hear that the construction at Tietze Park is expected to be completed by the end of the summer. Rachel Stone of the Advocate reported on several of the new additions that residents can expect.

The walking trail that loops around the perimeter of the park will run exactly half-a-mile in length and the kids playground area will have a shade structure. The portable toilets in the park will also get a permanent screen. Both the shade structure and screen are being paid for by 'The Friends of Tietze Park'.

The Friends of Tietze Park have been selling engraved bricks for the last three years to raise the necessary money. Like the construction, the bricks should be in place by the end of August.
