Lakewood’s The Wooden House Sets Up Shop Just Down the Block

Home furnishings store, The Wooden House, has recently moved to a different location, at 2003 N. Henderson Avenue, not far from its old stomping grounds.

The new locale is less than a mile away, about a two-minute drive from its former home, which was also located off of Henderson.

But why move such a short distance?

According to The Wooden House manager, Allie Rand, the current store has “a more organic feel which compliments our concept” of selling unique furniture and distinctive items from around the world.  But, it also keeps The Wooden House on Henderson Avenue where there is “always an exciting vibe…a neighborhood that we love so much.”

Rand said it took about a week of your average, non-stop moving and construction chaos to prepare the new shop. But, it was definitely worth the wait and relocating hassles.

The freestanding building is decidedly more modern with lots of natural light and an open, spacious layout. Shoppers will also have an easier time getting to the new building as the business now has its own, private parking.

The Wooden House will continue to offer its one-of-a-kind, eclectic pieces for which its known but you'll want to be on the lookout:the store will launch a variety of linens and glassware this fall.  That'll give you even more of a reason to visit the new digs!
