Kids and adults, cats and dogs and family and friends lined the streets of Lakewood to watch the 2011 Lakewood Fourth of July parade and festival. The parade - entitled 'Lakewood Loves the Lake' lasted around half an hour from beginning to end.

A firetruck with police escort led the way, with a few lucky participants riding shotgun atop the firetruck. A procession of convertibles followed soon after with a few bikes and scooters to make things fun and interesting.

Then, Boy Scout troop 42, pack 325 made an appearance with the American and Texas flags waving proudly with the 'Bonnie Barge' Band playing some tunes in the background.

The parade ended at Tokalon Park but the festivities were just beginning. Kids could partake in the bounce house or lineup for some shaved ice to cool off. It was a good way to start off the Fourth of July.
