Woodrow Wilson principal Ruth Vail has resigned her post today. In her resignation letter, Vail states that her reason for leaving is to focus her attention on her Doctoral Program at the University of Texas at Austin in Educational Administration.

Vail has been with Dallas ISD for the last 15 years and is a legacy Wildcat, having attended Woodrow Wilson herself as a youth. She stated that she will continue to serve and support Woodrow as an alumni and parent.

The school has not yet commented on a possible successor or what Vail's departure will mean to the school.
