Borders has been fighting a losing battle for some time now but it is finally over. The last Borders in Dallas, off Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue, as well every other Borders in the nation, will be closing its doors soon.

But, there is a silver lining to all this. While Borders soon will be no more, customers will get great prices on everything Borders has to offer, as the company will no doubt be trying to clear their entire inventory. So head on over to Borders before August 6, which is when the Advocate says the store could close.

Borders has been trying to auction itself to avoid liquidation over the past few months but no buyer has stepped forward. When the company was forced to close a third of its stores after filing for bankruptcy protection, two of the Dallas stores were closed: one in Uptown and one on Preston and Royal.
