Sign Up For Charity Poker to Benefit Two Great Causes and Win Great Prizes

A charity Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10 at Times Ten Cellars (6324 Prospect Avenue) and will benefit The Dallas Women's Forum and Alexander Mansion. The Dallas Women's Forum is one of the city's oldest and most active groups with over 100 years of community service, and they also act as the caretakers for Alexander Mansion, a Dallas Landmark.

A seat at the poker tournament will run a player $100 and there will be unlimited $50 re-buys during the first four levels of blinds, as well as a $50 optional add-on at the end of the fourth blind level. However, every dollar spent will be well worth it. All the money that is raised will benefit The Dallas Women's Forum and Alexander Museum.

And, of course, the winners of the tournament won't be going home empty-handed. Everyone at the tournament will be battling for a spot at the coveted final table. Each finalist will be playing for the prizes table, which will have some truly great prizes:

  • 42" HDTV ($600 value)
  • 16GB Apple iPad ($500 value)
  • One Evening Poker Table from Dead Money Poker: Professional dealer, poker table and chips for 10 ($250 value)
  • Bottle of fine French Bordeaux from the Ed Creel collection (priceless)
  • Two Dallas Stars hockey tickets (first level, great seats)
  • Free wine tasting for 10 from Times Ten Cellars ($250 value)
  • Gourmet Beer Basket from The World Beer Company ($150 value)

But, the night isn't over for those that don't make it to the final table. With a $20 donation, players can get a seat at single table 9-player sit and go's and have the opportunity to win additional prizes.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. but players can arrive early at 6:30 p.m. to play at the warm-up table. This is a good time to get a refresher course on the game and to pick up the basics and get some last minute coaching.

Anyone interested in participating in the tournament should contact Rick Salmeron via email (ricksalmeron@sbcglobal.net) or phone (214-923-7283). The tournament is in less than a week, so send your email as soon as possible to reserve a seat and get your registration papers.
