Lakehill's Varsity Soccer team defeated Lutheran at home on February 1, on penalty kicks. Ben Gillman scored on a pass from Cade Armstrong, but Lutheran tied the game on a breakaway, making it 2-2 at the half. It remained a tight battle in the second half, until Henry Hopkins earned a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. Hopkins sent a low, stinging shot around the wall of players and into the right side of goal to give Lakehill the lead, 3-2. Minutes before the end of regular time, Lutheran retied the game. The game went to penalty kicks where Hopkins and Leake were able to score, and Spencer Neill was able to keep Lutheran from scoring on all but one of their penalty kicks, giving Lakehill the win.
The team scored another victory on February 4, defeating Tyler All Saints, 2-1. This game was tight throughout the first half.
