Sofia Cirillo welcomes travelers to Odessa

Lakehill's third grade students recently brought their study of Texas history to life with a fascinating trip around Texas.

Travelers to Lakehill's cafeteria on December 4 were treated to a fascinating tour of Texas as third grade students showcased their study of Texas, sharing information on the history, geography, climate, citizens, and landmarks of a variety of Texas towns, from Alvarado to Amarillo and from Wichita Falls to Waco. Each created a travel brochure, highlighting the top attractions of their destination.

Some students dressed the part, outfitted in 10-gallon hats or oilfield uniforms. Texas favorites, including nachos, taquitos, and Dr. Pepper, gave visitors a true taste of Texas.

As third grade students served as tour guides, visitors were free to wander from town to town, exploring the sights, sounds, and tastes from the great state of Texas.
