Lakehill Preparatory School's baseball and softball teams got off to a great start, with victories in every season-opening game.
The Lakehill Varsity Baseball team defeated Rockwall Heritage 5-1 on March 1. Zac Aron threw a complete game for the win. Dylan Welch, Jonathan Kelly, and Gerard Franklin all contributed solid hits.
The Lady Warriors opened the softball season at home on March 1 with a 14-0 win over DISD Irma Rangel. The Warriors were led by seniors Sofia De la Cruz, Audrey Castaigne, and Ava Ecklin.
The Middle School Baseball team won their season opener on March 1 against DeSoto Canterbury. The Warriors got off to a great start, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. The Warrior surrendered their lead after a few mistakes in the bottom half of the inning. Behind 4-3, the Warriors dug deep and were able to produce four more runs. After giving up two runs early in the final inning, the Warriors held on for a 7-6 win. Eighth grader Jalen Webster was the winning pitcher.
The Middle School Softball team kicked off their season with a win on March 1 at ESD. The team was led in hitting and pitching by eighth grader Claire Howard. It was an exciting finish in the last inning as the Middle School Lady Warriors held off an ESD come-back to preserve a 15-14 victory.
