Lakehill third graders had a special treat on April 18 when State Representative Ken Sheets spoke to them as part of their study of Texas History and Government. The students even got to sign a copy of the Texas Declaration of Independence. The visit was arranged by Lakehill parents Tricia and Jonathan Neerman

"It was wonderful to watch learning come to life in the classroom," said third grade teacher Meredith Sauer. "Representative Sheets had the third grade students up out of their seats, voting on bills as House members and Senators. In less than an hour, I felt that the students gained a greater appreciation for what it means to be contributing citizens and proud Texans.
