At the Triathlon World Championships, held from September 11-18 in Cozumel, Mexico, Lakehill Preparatory School freshman Hamed El-Feky raced for the Egyptian team. The twelve team members competed in various professional and age group categories, while also raising funds for the Egypt Cancer Network.

El-Feky has participated in triathlons for the last five years with the Playtri team in Dallas. He added extra practices, including swimming before school, in order to prepare for the World Championships. On September 11, El-Feky competed in the Sprint race, swimming 400 meters, biking 13 miles and running a 5K. Other team members will compete throughout the week.

"It was great to see so many people from around the world racing together," El-Feky said. "I had a lot of fun and the Egyptian team raced for a great cause which made this experience so memorable."

The Egypt Cancer Network is an organization that supports the Children Cancer Hospital 57357 in Egypt.
