Dallas Arboretum Hosts Corporate Dinner to Thank Donors

On March 24, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden held an outdoor dinner in the Margaret Elisabeth Jonsson Color Garden to thank the 400 corporate donors in attendance for its support of the garden. Top Golf was the presenting sponsor of the dinner, which was provided by Gil’s Elegant Catering.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings welcomed guests via a taped recording as he was called out of town to Washington, D.C.

Dallas Arboretum Board Chairman Bill Graue also greeted the guests. “This is one of my favorite parts of being chairman because I get to personally thank you for your generous support of the Dallas Arboretum during one of the most beautiful times of year in the garden, Dallas Blooms.” As the largest floral festival in the Southwest, Dallas Blooms features more than 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs that blossom throughout the six-week festival, which lasts until April 12. The 3,000 azaleas will burst into bloom in the next few weeks.

Dallas Arboretum Board Member Mike Gosslee thanked the various donors for their support ranging from Dallas Blooms, Autumn at the Arboretum, The 12 Days of Christmas and more.  “Together, you provide a significant portion of the revenue that we count on to meet our $20 million annual budget. Your support, our professional management team and the assistance of our board is why we have operated in the black for the past 20 years.”

Finally, guests enjoyed dinner and dessert while listening to instrumental music under the stars.
