Dallas Arboretum Friends Party Suzi and Jack Greenman, Nancy Rutchik

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden hosted its Friends Holiday Party on December 8 at the historic DeGolyer House elegantly decorated in a Victorian style for the holidays with a collection of Byers’ Choice Ltd. Christmas Carolers. This significant priceless collection was generously donated for display by Kim and John Semyan who collected these figurines throughout the world.

The 300 in attendance enjoyed food by Gil’s Elegant Catering. After enjoying the festivities indoors, many walked around the garden to see the brand new $2 million Christmas exhibit entitled The 12 Days of Christmas.  During the day and evening, those of all ages are entranced and amazed at the attention to detail of this one-of-a-kind exhibit featuring dramatically designed 25-foot-tall gazebos created for each day of the popular Old English carol. Each gazebo includes either life-size Victorian-costumed mannequins or whimsical animals, with music accompanying each gazebo. The idea for the exhibit came from Phyllis and Tom McCasland, donors and board member.

As a special incentive for the final week of The 12 Days of Christmas, the Dallas Arboretum is offering a gift to those who have not yet seen it yet: buy one ticket, get one free from December 29 through January 4.

For those who purchase tickets for any night from December 29 to January 4 and arrive after 7:30 p.m., the ticket allows admission for two people.
