Surreptitiously lurking on the walls of many Park Cities homes is a substance as ominous as black mold -- lead paint. And much like black mold, lead paint has developed a reputation as a household nemesis. Lead is poisonous and has certainly fallen out of favor as an acceptable additive to household paints, but its poisonous properties are harmless so long as it remains undisturbed on the walls of the home -- unless of course, you lick your walls.

As of April 22, 2008, the Environmental Protection Agency requires that all contractors performing renovation projects involving any disturbance of painted walls, cabinets, doors, etc. – i.e., sanding, cutting, and demolition -- must follow the EPA’s mandates for lead-safe practices: 1) contain the work area; 2) minimize dust; and 3) clean up thoroughly. What’s more, the EPA also requires contractors working in homes built before 1978 be certified and trained by EPA-approved training providers. CB Construction takes lead-safe practices very seriously, as the majority of our clients’ homes were built prior to 1978.  Almost all our clients have lead paint somewhere in their homes; therefore, CB Construction has an EPA-certified contractor on the job site whenever required.
