Following a move from New York, Katey and Chris began their search for a new home in Dallas. They purchased a home in University Park, but knew it needed more than a few updates.
Referred to Chris Black’s CB Construction by a local firm, the couple hired Black and his team to remodel their home.
CB Construction began work on the homeowners’ kitchen, including countertops, backsplash and an exhaust vent and hood. They also remodeled bathrooms, the living room, built an entertainment center and installed hardwood floors and carpet throughout the home.
Additionally, Black’s team opened up the kitchen, removed an elevator and created a mudroom for the family.
At the time of construction, Katey and Chris were living in an apartment with their child and ready to get moved in as soon as possible. The schedule was a priority, as the family wanted all construction to be completed prior to their move.
By utilizing the design-build method, which designates a single entity to manage both design and construction services, Black and his team were able to speed up and streamline the remodel in order to accommodate the time-sensitive schedule.
According to Katey, CB Construction’s design-build process ensured the two-month project went according to plan from start to finish. Standard meetings were held weekly to keep the homeowners informed and to confirm the remodel was progressing on schedule. “They were easy to work with and it went very smoothly,” she said.
Katey said she’s very happy with the end result and would call Black and CB Construction for future projects.
“We think they did a great job. We really liked Chris and we would recommend him to anyone.”
