Bright Ideas and Inspiration for Your Next Home Building Project

As the gray days of winter begin to fade and the thermometer climbs into spring, many people are eager to refresh or enhance their homes with a new addition or a reconfiguration. It’s often challenging for homeowners to narrow their choices or see the potential of an existing space.

We continue to see classic trends in the design-build marketplace and some of these noteworthy concepts below might give you ideas for your own spring project.

Mudrooms

If your family room or kitchen is cluttered with discarded coats, backpacks and wet shoes, a mudroom might be the solution. The good news is these “messy” rooms aren’t just for kicking off your wet shoes anymore. Consider the mudroom as the ideal space for laundry, storage, a pantry or even a place to bathe your pet.

More Storage

There seems to never be enough room for storage! If your home lacks sufficient space to put things away, it can constantly be in the state of disarray! According to Builder Online, “79% of home buyers want more storage than home builders are providing.”  And, beyond the bedroom or hall closet, clients desire specialized storage in laundry rooms, offices and garages and tailored for collectibles, valuables and their own unique needs.

More Bedrooms, More Space

Sharing living quarters with elderly parents or grown children can be stressful. Homes with several bedrooms and an abundance of extra — often open — space are popular and can be a great solution for multigenerational living or additional room for guests.
