On Saturday, February 20, 2016, Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy had approximately 196 teams competing from kindergarten through university levels. Students selected one of six challenges and worked for 6 months to present their solution to the challenge. On the day of the tournament, each team then faced an Instant Challenge where they must solve a problem while "thinking on their feet" with the team centered solution.

Two of our very own BA teams are advancing to state! Superior Nobility and Tacos and Dog will both advance to the state competition in April. Along with these two teams, two other BA teams places second, one team placed third, and one team placed fifth. Congratulations to the teams and a huge thank you to Debra Jones and JROTC!

Bryan Adams' 2015 Homecoming Shirts

Although it's homecoming week at Bryan Adams HS, the students still took a day to stand for something greater than themselves. Yesterday, students and staff alike all had a "Pink Out" day for Breast Cancer Awareness. The hallways were flooded with pink shirts, shoes, and even tutus! Thank you to everyone who participated in this day!

However, this is not Bryan Adams' only effort to help with the battle against cancer. Bryan Adams HS is currently hosting a fundraiser to raise money towards the battle against pediatric cancer. “Our staff and athletes would like the opportunity to give back to kids that are not given the opportunity that most people take for granted daily,” said Gil Baber, Bryan Adams’ Athletic Director. “Every person knows someone who has been effected by this tragic disease and hopefully with our assistance through this program we can help children less fortunate have a more fulfilling childhood.  If each person would take the time to donate whatever they are capable of, we can make a huge difference in kids’ lives.”  All money that is generated from Bryan Adams’ efforts will support kids who are fighting cancer at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. Cadets begin practicing their routine.

Members of the Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy JROTC were invited to retrieve the flags at the Texas State Fair while the USMC band played in the background on Monday, September 28th. Cadets were given the opportunity to take down the American and Texas flags while a group of fair-goers watched and cheered. The JROTC received plenty of positive feedback, even being told by one Dallas Police Officer that they performed "the best JROTC flag retrieval so far."

We look forward to many more years of working with the State Fair of Texas and appreciate all of the positive commentary on our program!

As students returned to what is now known as the Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy for the first day of school, they were greeted in a MAJOR way. As students stepped off of the bus or out of their parents' cars, the belles danced, the cheerleaders cheered, and the band played songs to awaken them and get them excited for the day ahead!

This is the first day of the Leadership Academy, including the newly developed uniforms featuring a school crest and the new block schedule. Students will now be challenged more inside of the classroom, as well as given more real world experience outside of the classroom.

For the second year in a row, the Bryan Adams Destination Imagination team was one of the selected DISD teams to advance to the final competition. Last year the team placed 3rd out of 46 teams in their category. This year, the "Literacy Militia" placed 2nd out of 40 teams, making them the highest ranked team in Texas in their category of Project Outreach. Teams from all over the world travel to compete and our students remained tenacious and collaborated effectively in order to gain a great victory! The team members were Julian Carrillo, Alejandro Arteaga, Karen Macias, Anel Quevedo, Gabriel Ortiz, Thomas Jennings, and Daniela Gonzalez.

Congrats, Cougars!!
