Last week, the Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy Community Liaison partnered with the organization Communities in Schools to celebrate and thank the wonderful parents and volunteers of Bryan Adams. The Culinary Arts students made a chicken and shrimp alfredo dish, served with a salad and homemade brownies. Everyone that attended also left with a gift bag of goodies. The night was spent playing group games and celebrating parents and community members that have contributed to the ongoing success of BA. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Last Saturday, the East Dallas/ White Rock community came together for The Cougar Creek Clean-up project and it was a huge success! With over 200 participants from the Bryan Adams feeder schools, community members, our ED, Dr. Hughes, our Board Trustee, Mr. Micciche, and our very own amazing students and teachers we cleaned over 200 yards of the creek behind the athletic fields. Community members were elated about the turn out and the overall collaborative effort to improve the hidden treasure that borders our community neighbors on Peavy and Newcombe. Huge shout out to our student council members for organizing the event and our sponsors Mary Ann Suhl and Alexandria Harwood for facilitating the project. This was truly a collaborative effort that involved the city, the district, our feeder pattern, and our community members.

Thank you!

The discussion was an informal meeting to discuss various topics of importance that affect students and the district. Dr. Hinojosa mentioned in both meetings that Bryan Adams had one of the best turn outs for these meetings, so thank you to every parent, teacher, and community member that was in attendance.

Thirty-six students from the Introduction to Engineering class in the Academy of Engineering at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy had an opportunity to tour and visit with the engineers at Philips Lighting Corporation. The students were able to visit the plant where major lighting events are designed and created. The work-site visit included a mini-light show demonstrating the various components used in shows such as Beijing Olympics and The Rolling Stones World Tour. It was a great experience for the students and they really enjoyed themselves.
