A pair of Bishop Lynch student-athletes were recognized this morning during a ceremony in which they signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Seniors Ian Landry and Gabe Settles each signed with Midland University, located in Fremont, Neb.

Landry — a two-time all-district honorable mention in 2015 and 2016 — and Settles, a 2016 All-District 2nd Team selection, will head north to join the Warriors baseball program.

The Warriors are currently 41-18-1, just two wins short of equaling the program's single-season record of 43 wins. The team is heading to the postseason after falling 6-5 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championship game.

Landry and Settles give Bishop Lynch 22 total student-athletes to sign collegiate letters of intent during the 2015-2016 school year.

The duo played huge roles for the Friar baseball team, which qualified for the playoffs before being eliminated by Antonian in the opening round.
