Bishop Lynch junior Will Gates put the Friars on his shoulders Monday night, notching a hat trick in BL's 3-1 district win at Prestonwood Christian.

Senior Jose Marentes sent a cross to Gates for the first goal just five minutes into the contest.

The second goal came midway through the first half, when senior Chima Ogueri directed the ball to Gates for a 2-0 lead.

The action went back and forth in the second half, but Gates found a rebound and buried it in the net for his third goal and a 3-0 lead.

The Lions scored with just four minutes remaining.

The Friars will conclude their regular season Wednesday at home against John Paul II. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., after the junior varsity contest starting at 5 p.m.

"the more fans we get at tomorrow's game, the better," head coach Mark Melancon. "We will be excited to play them (JPII) again and I know it will be a good game. We would love to see as many students and staffulty as we can."
