The Bishop Lynch Lady Friars pulled away in the second half Friday to notch their 20th win of the season and maintain sole possession of second place in the district, topping John Paul II by a 48-35 score.

The Lady Friars led by just one point at halftime (22-21) but outscored the Cardinals 26-14 in the second half to nail down their third straight win and ninth win in their last 10 outings.

Freshman Endyia Rogers led all scorers with 14 points, Murphy Yoxall tossed in nine and Gabby Rogers had eight clutch points off the bench for Bishop Lynch. Mallory Lancasteralso had eight.

The Lady Friars outscored JPII by a 14-9 margin in the third and 12-5 in the fourth. They will head to Nolan Catholic on Friday for their second meeting with the Lady Vikings, having beaten Nolan 57-40 on Jan. 12.

The junior varsity girls routed JPII by a 51-29 margin, improving to 19-5 overall and staying unbeaten in district with a 7-0 record. The JV will host McKinney tonight at 6:30 p.m. before ending their season Friday at Nolan.

Jeanie Kohler scored 10 points in leading the freshman Lady Friars to a 38-20 win over JPII. The freshmen girls improved to 23-6 overall and 5-0 in district. They will wrap up their season Friday at Nolan.
