JV girls sweep McKinney for win No. 20

The junior varsity Lady Friars completed a three-game season sweep of McKinney's Lionettes on Tuesday, holding off the visitors for a 42-40 win at BLHS.

The Lady Friars also beat McKinney back on Nov. 12 at the Allen tournament (48-40) and again at McKinney on Jan. 15 by a 41-27 margin.

Nine players contributed to the BL point total, led by Monica Gonzalez with eight points. Kristin Phoenix had seven points, all in the fourth quarter.

After holding McKinney to just three points in the opening frame, the Lady Friars took a 20-13 halftime lead before the Lionettes closed the gap to 30-28 entering the fourth period.

The JV Lady Friars notched their 20^th win of the season and will wrap up their season Friday at Nolan. They'll also look to complete a perfect run through district play. They beat Nolan 40-29 in the first meeting on Jan. 12.
