The Bishop Lynch Lady Friars swept two district matches against Nolan Catholic on Monday night, winning the junior varsity match 2-1 and the varsity contest with a 2-0 shutout victory at Roffino Stadium.

The junior varsity remained undefeated this season, but had to rally from a 1-0 deficit to get the win.

After allowing a first-half goal to fall behind, the JV Lady Friars pulled even when Courtney Roberts set up Kaylee Schmoll for the equalizer. Shannon Chester tallied the game-winner later in the half.

The varsity squad beat a previously unbeaten Nolan squad, with goals by sophomores Aly Simpkins and Anisa Lopez. Simpkins broke free in the first half to break the scoreless draw and Lopez put it out of reach, scoring from 15 yards out in the second half.

Mica MacKay recorded the clean sheet in goal and a solid defensive effort by Atu MshanaKatie Gittemeier, Lexi Alexander, Kaky Kuby and Jordyn Beard helped keep Nolan off the scoreboard.

The midfield, consisting of Katelyn CurtisChristina StackAnna Schrader and Mia Belz, controlled Nolan and generated several scoring opportunities.

The varsity is back in action tonight at Prestonwood with the match kicking off at 7 p.m.
