Mallory Lancaster pumped in a game-high 20 points Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to get the Bishop Lynch past South Grand Prairie, as the Lady Friars lost on the road, 51-39.

Lancaster was the only Lady Friar to score in double figures while three from SGP scored at least 11, led by Kayla Wells' 13 points and 12 from Amber Bacon.

Murphy Yoxall and Taylor Boyd were next for BL, scoring six apiece, while Jordan Tibbits and Gabby Rogers each scored two.

The Lady Friars led 15-14 after the opening period, but were held scoreless in the second as SGP took a 26-15 advantage into the break.

Bishop Lynch closed the deficit to 39-31 heading into the fourth period, but was held to just eight points in the final frame.

The BL freshman girls also lost to SGP, by a score of 47-38.

Jeanie Kohler led the team with 10 points, Katie Hammons had eight and seven others contributed at least two points.

The freshmen are now 8-4 on the season, while the varsity saw its record drop to 6-3.

The varsity Lady Friars will host the 2015 Knights of Columbus Classic starting Thursday, and open the event with a 5:30 p.m. contest against Greenhill. They will face either West Mesquite or Lincoln in Friday's second round.

The junior varsity and freshman teams will compete in tournaments hosted by Mansfield ISD.
