The students and community of Bishop Lynch High School celebrated Wednesday of Catholic Schools Week 2016 with the presentation of dynamic speaker, Mr. Chris Stefanick, and his message of “igniting a bold, contagious faith in the heart of every Catholic in America - by building a movement of Catholics who share the beauty, power and truth of the Gospel with a world that has largely forgotten.”  More specifically, Chris’ ministry aims at reaching out to this younger generation of Catholics in an effort to give them answers to the more liberal views of today’s society.

BL principal Mrs. Evelyn Grubbs said, “Chris’ message was so powerful that at any moment during his presentation, you could hear a pin drop. Our students were completely engaged and riveted by his message, it was awesome.”

And the students agreed whole-heartedly.

Senior Krista Biggars said, “His message was very powerful. We have had many speakers who have come in and were good, but he was different. He opened my eyes to things that we accept in our society, but are contrary to our faith. Not only did he make me feel comfortable, he made me want to go live my life, try things … I can climb any mountain.”

Junior AJ Armenta added, “He really connected with all of us. I really heard that God is real. Any other ideas of life have no logic.”

“God has time for us because He loves us,” Armenta continued. “He is infinite in His capacity for love and life, and He is reaching out to us through our faith. It was a very powerful message.”

As the assembly concluded and the students returned to class, many stayed behind to thank Stefanick … speak with him … take a picture … or simply, shake his hand.

Senior Grace Englebert said, “He is one of those speakers that you listen to and you’re truly inspired to go out and change your life. And to change it for the better.”

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia defines Stefanick as, “one of the most engaging young defenders of the Christian faith on the scene today.”

It was that very same engaging, honest and open dialogue which left the Bishop Lynch community radiating with Stefanick’s message – God’s love for his children truly is the greatest love story ever told. And, what better week to be reminded of God’s love, than one that celebrates our mission in education - Catholic Schools Week.
