Lady Friars rout LCS, take over first place

Bishop Lynch blasted its way to a blowout win over Liberty Christian yesterday at Ferguson Park and stayed unbeaten in district play.

The Lady Friars (4-6, 3-0) opened up the game with a six-run first inning and never looked back on the way to a 14-2 run-rule victory over the visiting Warriors.

Rachel Rychlik, Noelle Pastor and Rhiannon Townsend each pounded extra base hits while Kristen Linares earned the win, allowing just two hits.

The Lady Friars will host second-place Nolan Catholic (9-9, 2-0) next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
