Bishop Lynch High School had five more student-athletes sign national letters of intent Wednesday, bringing its total to 20 for the 2015-2016 school year.
Four of the five were in attendance for a brief ceremony, joined by family, coaches, teammates and fellow students.
Chima Ogueri and Nick Vega each signed with the University of Dallas to continue their soccer careers. The Comets were 8-8-2 last season under head coach David Hoffman, including a program-best 7-4-2 record and third-place finish in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).
Both Ogueri and Vega picked up postseason honors for the Friars this season. Vega was named 2nd Team All-State, 1st Team All-district and District 1-5A Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Ogueri was a 2nd Team All-District selection.
The Friars finished 12-9-0 last season, falling in the opening round of the TAPPS playoffs.
Bianca Bowring signed with St. Thomas University in Minnesota and will play for a team that finished 26-4 last season with a 16-2 conference mark. St. Thomas finished ranked No. 9 nationally by D3hoops.com.
Tibbits signed with Hendrix College in Arkansas and will join a squad that finished 19-7 last season, with a 10-4 mark in conference play.
Bowring and Tibbits provided senior leadership for a Lady Friar team that advanced to the TAPPS 5A Final Four and finished second in district with a 14-2 league record. The Lady Friars were 26-9 overall.
Katelyn Curtis has also signed a letter of intent to play at Rhodes College in Tennessee next year. Curtis will join a Lynx squad that went 11-6-2 last season, including 8-0-1 at home.
Curtis helped the Lady Friars to a 19-5-1 record and appearance in the TAPPS 5A final and was a member of the 2015 state championship team.
Curtis received 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-District honors.
