Campagna leads Lady Friars to fourth at state tournament

The Bishop Lynch Lady Friar golf team brought home fourth place and finished just one stroke out of third during the TAPPS 5A Women's Golf Championships at Glen Rose's Squaw Valley Course on Apr. 25-26.

The Lady Friars finished the two-day event with a team total of 688, shaving 14 strokes off their Day 1 effort (351) with a 337 on Day 2.

All-state recipient Lauren Campagna finished tied for sixth in the individual standings and was one of just seven golfers to card a round under par during the tournament. Campagna's two-day total of 146 included a 75 on Day 1 and a 1-under 71 on the second day.

Madison Gorman logged a two-day total of 163, knocking off three strokes from the first round (83) to the second (80).

Lillie Frazier finished with a 189 total after rounds of 94 and 95, respectively. Sophie Bartlett was just a stroke behind Frazier with a total of 190, trimming eight strokes off her Day 1 round of 99 to card a Day 2 round of 91.

Lilliana Guerra finished at 226 with rounds of 111 and 115.
