Another close contest ended up putting an end to the Friar soccer season Tuesday, with the men's club falling 3-2 at San Antonio's Central Catholic in the TAPPS Division I Area playoff round.

The Friars ended the season with an overall record of 12-9-0, with 12 of their 21 matches being decided by a single goal. Tuesday's game in San Antonio was no different.

Central Catholic (16-4-3), bounced back from a first-round exit last season after winning the D1 title in 2014.

Central scored in the opening minutes to take an early 1-0 lead over the Friars.

Junior defender Jonathan Ramirez brought the Friars level just five minutes later, but Central immediately countered and regained the lead at 2-1, a score that would stand at intermission.

With 13 minutes to play, Central padded its lead, making it 3-1. Senior forward Chima Ogueri added a goal for BL with less than a minute to play, but the Friars were unable to send the match into overtime.

The Friars will graduate 11 seniors from this year's squad, which finished fourth in District 1-5A with an 8-6 league mark.
