BL opens season with win over PCA

Bishop Lynch High School

The Bishop Lynch tennis team opened the 2016 season Tuesday with a 7-6 victory over Prestonwood Christian Academy in a varsity-only meet at Oak Creek.

Wins were earned in singles play by the following:

• Scotty Giovannini (6-2, 6-2)

• Daniel Barrett (6-2, 6-3)

• Beck McCall (8-5)

• Anna Secker (8-2)

• Anna McCutchen (8-4)

In doubles, BL notched wins by:

• Ben Walter & Gatlin Shore (6-3, 6-4)

• Ashlyn Duy & Thomas Earp (6-3, 6-0)

The varsity and junior varsity will compete Monday, Feb. 22 against Bishop Dunne at the Dallas Athletic Club. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
