Aguilar earns all-state honor following record-setting year

When Bishop Lynch junior Josh Aguilar set a new single-season school record, the rest of the state took notice. Aguilar — who hit .560 for the Friars in 2015 — recently picked up First Team honors on the 5A TAPPS All-State baseball team.

Aguilar earned all-state honors in addition to being named District 1-5A Offensive Player of the Year and to the 1-5A First Team.

Senior first baseman Justin Lott received honorable mention All-State honors following a 2015 campaign that saw him earn a First Team All-District as well.

Matt Cook and Sam Gutierrez were selected to the 1-5A Second Team and Ian Landry received honorable mention from the district.

Lott will play baseball next season at Cisco Junior College, Gutierrez is heading to play at Incarnate Word University and another senior — Daniel Colasanto — will play at Henderson State University.

Congratulations to all of these outstanding student-athletes!
