Bishop Lynch finished off EP Cathedral on Saturday, completing a series sweep at McIngvale Field with a 20-5 Game 2 victory, setting up a 2nd round matchup with Beaumont Kelly later this week.

The Friars struck for seven runs on the top of the first inning, then put the contest out of reach with six runs in the fifth and another seven-run burst in the sixth frame. BL totaled 16 hits in the contest, including four that went for extra bases.

Ian Landry hit a solo-homer in the first, then picked up the win on the mound with a strong three innings of work, allowing just two hits and two runs while striking out two. Kyle Dunlop and Ryan Choate combined to toss the last three innings, allowing just three runs and five hits.

Choate was one of several Friars to have a huge day at the plate, legging out a triple, driving in a run and scoring twice. Josh Aguilar totaled four hits, scored four times and drove in three BL runs. Justin Lott added two hits, two RBI and scored three runs.

Key offensive contributions also came from Sam Gutierrez (two hits, two RBI, two runs), Travis Amerine (two hits, two RBI) and Mark Delvaldene (two hits, two runs).
