Bishop Lynch cross country teams were on their game Saturday, taking home one team title and a Top 4 finish during the Garey Horner Invitational in Dallas.

The Lady Friars finished first overall in the team standings, followed by Bishop Dunne and Trinity Christian Academy.

Freshman Ava Peeples (12:18.06) won the women’s race, finishing almost 40 seconds in front of the next competitor. Kaitlyn Steele finished third with a time of 13:19.70 and Kelli Koch was seventh at 13:51.12, rounding out the BL runners in the Top 10.

Caroline Savage (23rd), Victoria Villareal (33rd), Sophia Duarte (36th) and Elise Bobowski (50th) all finished in the Top 50. Parker Stowers was 61st and Riley Stowers finished 67th.

TCA won the men’s team title, while Bishop Lynch finished fourth in the overall standings.

Senior Jared Cogswell paced the men’s team, finishing 11th with a time of 18:01.66, followed by Ryan Sheaffer in 12th with a time of 18:20.28. Joseph McDonald (19th) also finished in the Top 20.

Lucas Herrmann (22nd), Eric Bellinghausen (32nd) and Patrick Kersey (49th) made the Top 50. Andres Cano finished 54th and Killian Baker was 56th.

The teams will compete again Saturday morning at the Lions Den Invitational, hosted by Ennis High School at Jaycee Park.
