With the steam of an old-school locomotive, the Lady Friars volleyball team is tearing through the district track, pushing one opponent after another out of the way with little to no resistance.

Thursday's matchup at Prestonwood Christian was the latest example of Bishop Lynch's dominance in district play, as the Lady Friars (24-8 overall, 6-0 district) swept their way to a 3-0 win with scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-17. The BL ladies notched their seventh consecutive win and have now won all 18 sets in district play.

A long list of contributors played key roles in the Lady Friars' victory, led by sophomore Madi Tyus (11 kills, nine digs) and senior Callie Williams (18 assists).

Catherine Balido smashed 11 kills, Melanie Heigele notched 13 assists and Francesca Goncalves had nine digs. Danielle NevittMorgan Hinds and Elena Macaluso each tallied seven digs.

The Lady Friars will entertain Bishop Dunne on Tuesday with the varsity contest starting at 4 p.m., followed by the junior varsity. BL will hit the road Thursday to face Parish Episcopal at 6 p.m.
