Two more wins for the Lady Friars last week put an end to the first half of the district schedule, during which the Bishop Lynch ladies finished 8-0.

Last week, the Lady Friars (26-8, 8-0) swept both Bishop Dunne and Parish Episcopal, which also completed a clean sweep of the district, with 24 sets won to no losses.

BL swept Dunne last Tuesday, winning by scores of 25-7, 25-10 and 25-8.

Francesca Goncalves (13 kills, two aces), Melanie Heigele (16 assists) and Callie Williams (10 assists) led the way. Catherine Balido (eight kills), Elena Macaluso (six kills) and Morgan Hinds(eight digs) were also key contributors.

Against Parish, the Lady Friars claimed victory with scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-18.

Madi Tyus posted 14 kills and served four aces, Heigele had a team-best 18 assists and Williams tallied 16 helpers. Danielle Nevitt was also big with 12 digs and two aces.

This week, the Lady Friars head to Argyle today to face Liberty Christian, then host Trinity Christian on Thursday.
